Review of Pocket O.F. featuring G-Dubbs of Sacred Grounds on 4/6/07.

This is the second time G-Dubbs has had the pleasure of gracing Pocket O.F. with his musical talent. Whenever we feature the Sacred Grounds residents they always pack the house! In short, G-Dubbs once again came through with another crafty arrangement of house. His set was a bit longer this time which gave him enough time to take the crowd on a dancing trip that had them whistling, hooting and hollering through out his entire set. From his cosmic melodies to his deep driving base lines. The dance floor was definitely rockin’ away to his magical sound. G-Dubbs like his fellow Sacred Grounds residents always put on a good show. With his incredible amount of energy behind the decks he just kept feeding the vibe of the party. If given the chance to catch G-Dubbs at a club or underground house event my recommendations is to do it! You will not be disappointed. Can’t wait to have him back again to once again rock Pocket O.F.!

SGP Invades the OC at Club Focus
Focus O.C Review:

Sacred Grounds had the pleasure of gracing the decks at the longest running O.C house club (FOCUS). The 4 year tenure for focus has brought house talent in from across the globe. Most recently they had “MASTIKSOUL” who had the place rocking’ however the turnout was on the lighter side This year alone the FOUCS will have had Derrick Carter, Garth, Justin Long, DIZ, Miguel Migs etc. to name a few. The focus locals Jose A.K.A dj non-fiction and Josh Billings were great in having the SGP boys the following week. The night started with nonfiction ripping it, showing the O.C. and L.A house “SCENE” why he is one of the most up and coming dj’s out right now. The dance floor was packed from start to finish. The sacred grounds residents came next starting with G-DUBBS, AKA Carlos Baruch who is really staring to shape his sound and he’s beginning to put his music together as his music awareness is rocking the dance floors lately. Carlos has been a loyal “house head” for over a 15 years now and it’s evident in his DJ sets. The night featured the introduction of G-Dubbs to Orange County, Carlos had his debut for a bigger crowd there at his hands and he stepped up with some jazzy beats to go along with some nice rolling baselines and underground funk all mixed up with the right flavor to set the mood. Next up was Abraham Fabela. Abe is the newest member of the sacred grounds familia. Abe kept his underground sound flavor going from start to finish, really introducing our sound to a new generation of people, some veterans. Abe had people in almost bliss with his dubby basslines and rolling waves. Finally, the longest running sacred grounds resident DL LOU stepped up. Lou has been the resident for SGP now for over 10 years taking his musical style in many directions, LOU has proven to be one of L.A’s top house dj’s/pioneers of his time. DJ LOU has graced the decks with all top talent in the industry and at his own long running sacred grounds parties in LA. DJ LOU stepped up with his funky grooves, added baselines, and vocal swings that would have the floor staying until the end. DJ LOU has many different sounds that can light up the dance floor and keep the crowd moving all through his sets. Look out for the sacred grounds residents taking you to a whole new level in 2007. Good times in O.C. and mad props to the FOCUS crew for the night.

Grow review
It was off the hinges with a turn out of about 350 + people!!! The party goers made the vibe insane! First on the decks was G-Dubbs cofounder and resident G-Dubbs is back with an attack! Warming the dance floor up with his funky jazzy sounds. Then the newest resident for Sacred Grounds stepped to the decks and showed everyone why he has been added Dj Abraham Fabela. Abe started off on a deeper note then built his set into a bangin’ joy ride that everyone was dancing too! Then the ace of the Sacred Grounds residency stepped up and showed LA why he is the next best thing coming out of LA. DJ LOU worked the crowd from beginning to end. With some rolling base lines to his kicking snare shots. Lou rocked the crowd like he always does. With his experimental sound Lou came with it! Buck was up next on the decks. Buck surprised everyone with an awesome dj performance. And I mean performance! Buck did more then play records, he
worked the decks like a musical instrument. From the effects on the mixer to his own special effects using vinyl. NICE!!! And the special guest of the night, GALEN. Played a dj set that LA wasn’t ready for. From his signature Sunset Sound to some dirty crisco disco he definitely showed the crowd and LA what the Pacific Sound System is all about. Can’t wait to have him back again. Sacred Grounds will be definitely having him out a few times this year.

As for the doublefisted room. Those guys are freakin’ dirty dirty! They came with some funky ass dirty disco that would of had Harvey dancing all nite long! Foolish Felix was an excellent addition to the line up! With his galactic disco set. He sent everyone on a space disco ride they would never forget. Mark E Quark came with it too! Representin’ the doublefisted underground proper like. As for Scotty Coats, Deekay, Serg, and Dirty Lo those guys played solid sets from begining to end. Keepin the vibe tight all night. Look out for The Doublefisted underground because they will be taking the underground by storm.

Twilight lighting did a magnificent job with the light show and visual effects adding an ambience to the vibe that other parties are missing. Way to go Todd! Forcefield Sound System came through with another baning sound system and top deck. Always quality sound when it comes to FFS!
